Your seed phrase is a string of words that stores all the information needed to recover your wallet. “Seed phrase” is sometimes also referred to as mnemonic seed, mnemonic phrase, recovery phrase, or backup seed phrase. If you’d like to know how a seed phrase differs from a private key, check out this article.

Your seed phrase on Zerion is a list of 12 words that can be used to access all your wallets in a wallet group.

As long as you have your seed phrase, you'll be able to access your funds even if you change devices or stop using Zerion.

For example, browser wallets like MetaMask let you import your wallet via seed phrase, so you could import your Zerion wallet to MetaMask or any other dapp that supports this functionality. In this way, you are the owner of your funds and you’re not tied to using a specific app to access them.

If you lose your seed phrase, you will lose access to your funds forever. So never, ever share your seed phrase with anyone and make sure to back it up safely and securely.

Can one seed phrase be used for more than one wallet?

Yes. When you create a wallet on Zerion for the first time, a seed phrase is generated. If you decide to create additional wallets, they will be associated with the same seed phrase.

Does Zerion have access to my seed phrase?

No. Zerion is non-custodial. Your seed phrase is stored locally on your device so Zerion does not have access to this data.

How do I secure my seed phrase?
