Tips for Creating a Secure Password or Passcode in Zerion

Set up a secure password or passcode to protect your Zerion wallet from unauthorized access.

Updated this week

When setting up your Zerion Wallet, you’ll be prompted to create a password (for the browser extension) or a passcode (for the mobile app). This credential is critical, it encrypts your recovery phrase and secures your wallet, helping prevent unauthorized access even if someone gains physical access to your device. It will be asked to unlock your Zerion extension or mobile app.

Password (extension)

Zerion enforces password requirements to help keep your wallet secure:

  • Minimum length: At least 6 characters

  • Complexity: Use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols

  • Uniqueness: Avoid common or easily guessable passwords

Never share your password with anyone. Keeping it private is essential to protecting your wallet.

Passcode (mobile)

  1. Avoid simple combinations: Don’t use patterns like 000000 or 123456

  2. Be unpredictable: Choose a passcode that even close friends or family wouldn’t guess

  3. Make it memorable: Your passcode can’t be recovered, pick one that’s easy for you to remember, but hard for others to guess

Forgot Your Password or Passcode?

Your password and passcode are stored only on your device, not on Zerion’s servers.
This means Zerion cannot recover or reset them. If you've forgotten yours, follow the steps in this article to regain access.
