What to Do If You Forgot Your Zerion Password or Passcode?

Have you forgotten your Zerion password or passcode? Learn the steps to recover your account securely with this quick guide.

Updated over a week ago

Forgetting your Zerion password or passcode can be stressful. Your password or passcode is used for encrypting your recovery phrase, which secures access to your funds.

If you've backed up your recovery phrase, whether on paper or backed up in the cloud, you can regain access to your wallet addresses quickly. Follow the steps below to restore access to your accounts on the Zerion mobile app or Zerion browser extension.

🔥 Important: Lost Your Recovery Phrase?

If you’ve no access to your recovery phrase, and if you can not access your accounts anymore, unfortunately, there’s no way to restore your accounts. Zerion is a self-custodial wallet, meaning only you have control over your recovery phrase. For your privacy and security, we do not store or have access to this information.

Mobile

  1. Open the Zerion mobile app.

  2. Tap on 'Reset', then tap 'Confirm' to delete your existing data.

  3. Tap 'Add existing Wallet'.

  4. Choose Your Restoration Method:

    1. Import wallet: If you have your recovery phrase or private key written down, select this option to manually enter it.

    2. Restore from Google Drive or iCloud: If you’ve backed up your recovery phrase to the cloud, choose this method.

    3. Connect Ledger: Select this if you are using a Ledger device to store your recovery phrase.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process and regain access to your wallet!

Extension

  1. Open the Zerion extension.

  2. Click on 'Forgot password?' then 'Clear All Data'

  4. Once the data is erased, you should be able to either 'Import Existing Wallet' or 'Connect Ledger'.

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process and regain access to your wallet!
