How to disconnect your wallet from dApps?

Learn how to safely disconnect your wallet from DApps using Zerion, protecting your assets and enhancing your security.

Updated over a week ago

When you connect to a decentralized application (dApp), you authorize the dApp to access certain information and perform specific actions, such as viewing your wallet's public address, checking your balance and transaction history, and sending transaction requests for your approval (see screenshot below). This connection is essential for interacting with the dApp.

The dApp can prepare a transaction and present it to you, but nothing will happen unless you approve and sign the transaction. To enhance security, it's prudent to disconnect your wallet after use, especially if you've connected to an unfamiliar or potentially malicious dapp. This helps prevent accidental transactions.

This guide will show you how to easily disconnect your wallet from dApps using Zerion.

⚠️ Warning: Disconnecting vs. revoking approvals are not the same

The following steps will only disconnect your wallet from the dApp. This action will stop the dApp from accessing your wallet's public address, view your assets and transaction history, and initiate transactions.

However, disconnecting does not revoke any token approvals you've granted.

Mobile

  1. Open the Zerion app on your mobile device.

  2. Tap the QR code button within the home page.

  3. At the bottom of the screen, find and tap on Scan, then tap on Active Connections.

  4. The list of dApps that your wallets are connected to will appear.

  5. To disconnect from a specific dApp, tap on that dApp. If you want to disconnect from all dApps at once, tap Disconnect All.

You've successfully disconnected your Zerion mobile wallets from dApps. πŸŽ‰
