In Zerion, you can track any wallet without needing access to its recovery phrase or private key. This is called adding a watch address. It’s a simple way to monitor wallet activity, whether it’s your own or someone else’s.
In this article, we’ll explain how watch addresses differ from imported wallets and show you how to add a watch address using the Zerion browser extension or mobile app.
Watch Address vs Imported Wallet
Watch Address: View-only wallet. You can track balances and activity, but you can’t send, receive, or sign transactions. Watch addresses are marked with an 👁️ icon in Zerion.
Imported Wallet: A fully functional wallet you control. This includes wallets you’ve created in Zerion, imported with a recovery phrase or private key, or connected via a hardware wallet. You can send, receive, and sign transactions.
Add a Watch Address in the Zerion Extension
Click the wallet selector at the top of the Zerion extension.
Click on Add wallet
Click on Add Existing wallet
Choose Watch address
Paste the wallet address you want to track, then click Continue.
Once added, you can switch to this wallet anytime in the extension to view its balances and activity. It will be marked with an eye icon.
Add a watch address in the Zerion mobile app
Tap on the ➕ icon next to My Wallets.
Tap Add Existing Wallet
Choose Watch
Paste the wallet address you want to track, then tap Continue.
Choose where to add the wallet:
My Wallets: Adds the wallet to your main wallet list. ⚠️ Only use this if you own the wallet (have the recovery phrase or private key). Otherwise, you risk sending funds to an address you don’t control.
Watchlist (default): Adds the wallet to your watchlist, a separate section for tracking wallets. You can access it by tapping the 👁️ icon in the top-left corner of the app, or by swiping from left to right on the home screen.
