Understanding Fees on Zerion

This article explains how fees work on Zerion.

Updated yesterday

At Zerion, we’re committed to full transparency, that means no hidden fees.

Zerion does not charge any fees for sending or receiving crypto from your wallet. The only fees we apply are when you use Zerion’s built-in Swap or Bridge features.

Below is a breakdown of the three types of fees you may encounter while using Zerion:

Network Fees (Gas Fees)

Every blockchain transaction requires a network fee (commonly known as gas) to be processed and validated by the network’s validators. These fees:

  • Are not charged by Zerion, but by the blockchain you’re transacting on

  • Vary depending on the network and current traffic (congestion)

  • Can be customized in Zerion: choose between Fast, Medium, or Custom fee levels right in the app

Zerion Fee (Swaps & Bridges Only)

When you use Zerion’s built-in Swap or Bridge features, a 0.8% service fee is applied.

Here's what you should know:

  • Zerion Gold DNA holders are completely exempt from this fee, forever

  • Zerion Premium users get a 50% discount, bringing their fee down to 0.4%

All collected fees are stored in a secure, multisig "treasury-like" wallet, meaning multiple parties must approve any transaction from it. The funds are held safely until a community governance model is established.

Multisig wallet addresses:

  • Avalanche & Optimism: 0x7d20Ab6D8aF50d87A5E8DeF46e48F4d7dC2Ea5c7

  • All other networks: 0x4a183b7ED67B9E14b3f45Abfb2Cf44ed22c29E54

Exchange Fees (External DEX or AMM)

When you place a trade that is routed through an external decentralized exchange (DEX) or automated market maker (AMM), their standard trading fee will automatically be included in your transaction total.

  • Zerion doesn’t control or collect these fees

  • These vary depending on the protocol used
